Great tool, Worth having around
Pros
I really love the scheduling and client communication tools. They let me manage subcontractors, track progress and update homeowners in real time with live schedule changes and believe I am able to do this all from one platform!
Cons
At first, there were a few hiccups especially when I tried importing our old projects. Not all of the subcontractors were quick to adapt to the app either which slowed things down a bit.

Payments are smooth but comes with slight delays
Pros
Buildertrend made it super easy to process large payments to my contractor i found it really simple to manage payments and break them down by item.
Cons
Honestly, this software did make the payment process a little slower for the contractor. I had to verify small payments that came into my bank. It actually gave me peace of mind but I know it caused some delays on their end.

Excellent customer service
Pros
One of the things I appreciate the most about this software is the customer support. Whenever I have a question or I'm not sure about something I can easily reach out through the chat feature or call their support line. They're always so helpful in walking me through things and finding a solution. They're simply fantastic.
Cons
A thing that bugs me is that once a customer activates their account we can't update their contact info anymore. Sometimes I'm working with older clients or people who aren't very tech-savvy. It ends up taking me forever or several emails just to explain how they can update their phone number or email. It would be so much easier if I could just update it myself in a few seconds. I really hope they change this.

Easy budget control
Pros
The best part is that everything is in one software. The new job costing budget tab is incredibly accurate and we can control the entire job budget from there. Plus it allows us to make changes to the estimate even after it's been completed.
Cons
When I first started using it, I found the "Selections" tab for the homeowner's options pretty confusing. It's just not that user-friendly.

Convenient updates but confusing calendar setup
Pros
It's awesome that I don't have to send tons of photos anymore. Everyone can just check the status directly. Clients love it too. They may not always understand construction stuff but the pictures really help them stay in the loop.
Cons
Getting the calendar and schedule to work properly took me a while due to some initial setup challenges. I kept messing up dependencies between tasks and things were moving around in odd ways. It took me some time to figure out how to get it right. Would appreciate if it comes with an instruction manual.
