Nothing Worked and Hidden Costs Galore
Pros
Honestly, not a single part of the software worked as promised. The sales team was overly aggressive. They told us everything would be smooth, but after we signed, we had to upgrade all our tech and install third-party apps we weren't told about.
Cons
For me, everything went wrong. The Sales team promised a flawless transfer from PCLaw but that didn't happen. They also claimed the software had all the features of PCLaw but that was a lie. The software didn't operate properly, stuff like opening a file on one computer wouldn't sync on another. Trust accounting was a nightmare and all the accounting data was wrong.

Overpriced and Overhyped Legal Tool
Pros
It's pretty popular in the industry so a lot of new staff members are already familiar with it. Thankfully, that's changing as new competitors are entering in the legal software space.
Cons
LEAP is really expensive especially for what it offers. I've been using it for 22 years and during that time I've watched the price going up so high while the service and support have gone downhill. The biggest issue for me is that when you change products or drop services, they disconnect you and then you're stuck having to sue them to get your services back.

Pros
The only thing I like about it is the case layout because it's clean and visually easy to follow. Invoicing is manageable, and while it needs some polishing, it does the basic job for now.
Cons
I really wish LEAP could integrate with Adobe. Searching for documents takes way too long and feels outdated. The navigation should be much more efficient by now.

Total Scam! Please avoid
Pros
This company is a complete scam. Stay away from it.
Cons
They took my money and never even gave me access to the software. When I asked for my login credentials and later for a refund, they completely ghosted me. There's no support line or helpdesk just radio silence. I strongly believe they're collecting client data for shady reasons. Stay away from this company.

Enhanced client interactions and improved project management
Pros
I genuinely like how LEAP molds itself around my workflow rather than forcing me to change. It's helped me improve client communication and manage projects more efficiently. The adaptability is definitely one of its strongest features.
Cons
The system can get really slow especially when I'm dealing with large volumes of data. It's frustrating when it delays decision making due to the slow report generation.

Not Much More Than a Script Viewer
Pros
The only thing it really does is let me view scanned in scripts. That's about it.
Cons
I have faced a huge delay in response to actions. The prompts are unnecessary and I have to enter my password too often. It's hard to see everything because important functions and information are hidden. It's frustrating that using both the keyboard and mouse wastes time and there are too many bugs like the program exiting unexpectedly.

Just a Frustrating Mess
Pros
I have noticed that it does a good job of keeping up with the latest changes in the law.
Cons
LEAP programmers seem to think they know more about running a law firm than the senior lawyers. They make simple tasks like producing a trust statement to send to a client unnecessarily difficult. Even attaching files to emails is a hassle because they don't think you should do it that way. Over time the software has only gotten harder to use and less user-friendly. Instead of listening to those of us with years of experience they make excuses.

Not Designed for Probate
Pros
The LEAP team genuinely tried to understand our probate challenges, and I appreciate their openness to feedback.
Cons
I used to do my job quickly and confidently with a system where I could easily access asset and liability lists, create estate accounts and download forms. But with LEAP I feel like I've been transported back to the 90s. The probate system is terrible and my team has had to manually do work we used to do easily with a system called ALB. LEAP is great for conveyancers but for probate practitioners like us it's a step backward.

Functional but Overpriced
Pros
I can search dockets and handle billing fairly easily. It's not the most intuitive system, but it does function. I haven't used the document management side enough to comment on that.
Cons
I think the onboarding process was a mess. The contract is a three-year deal but they don't tell you that upfront. If you add users, you have to pay for all three years at full price and no discounts. The overdue interest is awkward and there's no way to fix financial mistakes without messing up the entire ledger. Plus they factor in your subscription term and send your money to a third party who does a credit check on you. When I was going to use it, I wasn't told any of this and I didn't appreciate it.

Outdated Tools Make Probate Work Unbearable
Pros
The core features work fine. Searching dockets and handling billing tasks is smooth enough. LEAP does fulfill its most basic promises.
Cons
There's no calendar system and I have to download it to my PC. The ribbon is ridiculous, it mislabels tabs (e-signature and litigation support are completely backward). The technical support is horrible. It's a huge waste of time. CLIO's tech support is a thousand times better.
