Real game-changer for architects
Pros

I use It for timesheet analysis and budget forecasting and it really helps keep things on track.

Cons

I think the iOS app could use some improvement. It would also be really helpful to have a project details and communication tracking sheet.

After using it for more than a year
Pros

The interface is very simple to use and the time tracking is almost always spot-on. I love that it integrates with QuickBooks Online (QBO) because QBO has always been reliable for our bookkeeping and accounting. It just keeps getting better with every update.

Cons

Support was great when we first signed up and they were always responsive, solving issues right away. But now, it's slower and harder to get a response. There's no community forum and we haven't found an easy way to interact with other users to share tips or get help. Invoicing can be a pain because you need to check multiple tabs at once. We suggested combining this info into the financial tab but nothing has been done yet. I've also found a few errors like missing consultant work and previously invoiced amounts. I pointed it out a couple of months ago, and they're still working on fixing it.

Almost perfect but not fully there yet
Pros

I can easily partition hours on a project based on the fee and who's working on it which makes everything so much clearer.

Cons

I'd love to have the option to request a revision for vacation time taken. Sometimes, I end up working during my vacation. It would also be great to include a planned pause in a future phase so that it doesn't show up in staff schedules. For example if we're in design development and need to pause for contractor pricing, we know people won't be working but it still shows up in the design phase.

How Monograph has helped me as a young architect
Pros

You can tell this product is made by architects, for architects. It really helps me as a young designer, understand how fees and project timelines go hand-in-hand.

Cons

Honestly I can't think of many ways to improve the user experience. I think the administrators at my firm have faced more challenges with the interface.

Why architects need Monograph
Pros

The setup was super easy and understanding how everything works was a breeze. The general timeline feature is very useful.

Cons

It would be nice if there was an option to unlock all the premium features even if you have fewer than five users.

Monograph is fantastic!
Pros

I love the layout and color options, it's visually appealing right from the start. Once you get the hang of it, it's really easy to use. Plus it's easy for all my staff to use and it's definitely helped us manage our time more effectively.

Cons

The project and employee performance reports could use some improvements. They're not the easiest to read and we notice discrepancies when it comes to profit and loss. We end up referring to QuickBooks Online for more accurate info.

Very user friendly software
Pros

It's user-friendly and doesn't take long to learn how to use it. Onboarding new employees is quick. The staffing and scheduling feature is awesome too.

Cons

I'd love to see more metrics for each project like the profit margin. The numbers I see for profit margins seem way off. It would also be helpful to understand how those numbers are calculated. It'd be great if Monograph could show the cost rate for each employee. Being able to enter PTO time would also help provide a clearer picture of their cost rate and the project profit margin. It'd be nice to track how fast we're using up the project fee and adjust staff hours accordingly.
