My experience after seven months with Synergy

Pros

I love how everything I need is all in one place. Whether it's managing projects or keeping track of timesheets, I don't have to jump between different systems or tools.

Cons

The setup was expensive, so we decided to handle it ourselves. However because we didn't have much experience with the setup, we've run into a few issues along the way.

I'm a fan of how Synergy makes life easier for engineers

Pros

It takes care of so many things for my business. It handles client details, keeps track of timesheets, manages finances, databases, project budgets, invoicing, correspondence and templates. The best part? It lets me check the progress of each project daily which keeps everything running smoothly.

Cons

The cloud-based web app is really convenient since it allows me to manage the practice from any browser. But I've noticed that some features aren't as simple and tend to run clunkier compared to the old desktop version we used before switching to the cloud.

Really good fit for the team overall

Pros

All the essential tools I need for managing my projects are right here from project management and task tracking to chats, timelines, transmittals and timesheets.

Cons

Uploading files can sometimes be a problem and it doesn't always go as smoothly as I'd like.

My top choice for project management

Pros

I can easily manage our team's resources, project finances and even link it to our main accounting software.

Cons

No cons from my side. I really like that I can enter separate task inputs into the same timesheet line item without having to duplicate the line.

How I manage projects with Total Synergy

Pros

It is a game-changer. It's perfect for project management especially in the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) industry. What I love most is how everything, project planning, resource management and financial tracking is all integrated into one platform. It makes teamwork so much easier, and it tracks time and costs accurately which is vital for keeping projects on track and profitable. Plus the cloud-based system lets me manage projects from anywhere and keeps things transparent at all stages.

Cons

One thing I don't like about It especially on the accounting side, is the occasional difficulty syncing it with MYOB AccountRight. While the software has great features for managing accounts and invoicing, the integration with MYOB isn't always smooth. Sometimes, the sync doesn't work as expected which leads to discrepancies between the two systems. This causes delays when reconciling accounts and managing financial records, adding unnecessary extra time and effort. I think improving this integration would really boost the efficiency of managing accounts.

Streamline my engineering consultancy

Pros

The user interface is clear and the workflows throughout Synergy are easy to follow. As the founder of a new consultancy I've been pleasantly surprised at how well It handles all aspects of project delivery and performance without needing a lot of customization or extra tools.

Cons

It feels like Synergy is getting close to a point where there are almost too many features available right from the start. It's great but it can be overwhelming at times.

Makes my work life so much smoother

Pros

It is very simple to use and the "Blue" feature answers most of my questions in no time. Customer service is awesome too and they resolve any issues or questions quickly. Project managers can also see project performance clearly and easily.

Cons

Merging wasn't easy and I also found that the support around uploads was a bit lacking. It could definitely use some improvement.

Ease of Synergy in one word: Syn'ease'rgy

Pros

It's very easy to create tasks, assign them to colleagues and invoice for projects. It syncs right away to Xero, making it simple for clients to pay.

Cons

I find it inconvenient that I have to go into a project just to change the status. It would be much easier if that option were available directly on the project dashboard like a simple dropdown menu under the three dots.

Overall good tool!

Pros

I can track and monitor multiple projects at different stages of completion with ease.

Cons

I've only used Synergy for a short time, so I haven't come across any major negatives so far.

Great customer service

Pros

The live chat feature is fantastic , I can talk to a real person, not some AI and get real responses and solutions.

Cons

The interface is overwhelming at first especially with so many options to navigate through.
